Memorization fades. Understanding lasts.

We develop mathematical thinking without the boredom, so kids truly understand math, enjoy their lessons and want to keep learning.

How we teach.

Your child solves the problems.

You can't build muscle by watching someone else lift weights. Math is the same: if your child only watches the tutor solve, they learn very little. So in our lessons your child solves the problems, and the tutor helps and guides.

Questions, not lectures.

Instead of showing a finished solution right away, the tutor asks guiding questions. They help your child work through the problem, understand the logic of the solution and reach the right answer on their own.

Step by step, a little harder.

We choose problems that give your child something to think about, but that they can still manage. Once a topic is clear, we move on to harder problems. That's how your child steadily builds their skills and their confidence.

We remove what holds them back.

Fear of making mistakes, boredom, only watching, being too shy to ask.

Mistakes aren't scary.

When a child hears a harsh "wrong", they can shut down and stop trying. So we don't scold mistakes: we help your child see where they went wrong and how to find the right answer. We want your child to think out loud, ask questions and try again without fear.

Their ideas are heard out.

We give your child time to explain their thinking, even when it's heading the wrong way. We don't interrupt or rush to give the answer. That way we understand how they think, and help them find solutions on their own.

No pressure, no fear of mistakes.

Our tutors talk with children openly and warmly. In a lesson it's fine to ask a question, make a joke, or admit something isn't clear. We want your child to feel comfortable and enjoy learning.

Built floor by floor.

Math is like a skyscraper: every new topic rests on the one before. Skip one floor, and everything after it gets harder. So we first find and close the gaps in what your child knows, then move step by step to harder topics.

Understanding, not memorizing.

A memorized formula is easy to forget. When your child understands why it works, they can use it even on a problem they've never seen. So we explain not just the steps, but the logic behind them.

Clear examples first, formulas second.

We explain hard math topics with simple examples from everyday life: fractions with slices of pizza, percentages with discounts in a store. Once your child understands the idea, we move on to the rules and formulas.

Preparing for what's coming up at school.

From the next school test to the SHSAT, SAT, ACT, AP, Regents or STAAR, we practice on real past exams, starting from your child's own school district.

The free first lesson is the same method.

1

A full lesson, free

50 minutes of a real lesson. Your child learns something new, and you see how they get on with the tutor.

2

We show you their strengths and gaps

We tell you what your child already does well, and which topics still need work.

3

We build a learning plan

We show you which topics need to catch up, and the order we'll work on them.

All of this is free, from the first lesson.

What happens at the free lesson →

Your first lesson is free. Not a trial, a real lesson.

Your child spends a full 50 minutes with a tutor, works through a new topic, and gets to try our way of teaching.

And you get to see how comfortable your child is with the tutor, and whether they enjoy the lessons.

After the lesson, we tell you what your child already does well, where the gaps are, and what to work on next.

No obligation. Just come, meet us, and see whether it's right for your child.
